Actually love this program! I sort of hate is as much as i love it though, i just hate the way society is 'lets kick him out the army because he wants to be a girl' yeah sure, after all the time he spent devoted to serving your country lets just kick 'im out. I also find it sad how someone can go almost half there life pretending to be someone else. What i've found out with these programs is that most of them marry and have kids in self denial hopeing that it will 'fix them' somehow, even though there not broken to begin with, they're just different - not so different to being a tom boy but there more socially accepted. It's such a shame though, i can understand how they feel that there all being driven to suicide, beating themselves up because of their feelings - being born in the wrong body.
I especially feel sorry for this guy. He's practically wasted half his life living a lie then puts up with his girlfriend seeing other men and bringing them back to there home! In a way i feel sorry for that rachael to, i'd find it hard if the person i loved essentially wasn't the person i loved anymore but why they held on for so long hurting eachother?
Also, his parents should be ashamed, they really should! Could you actually get more cruel? oh, so all your feelings have been bottled up all these years and now you finally have the guts to tell us how you really feel and sure, we'll accept this because we're your parents and whatever makes you happy will make us happy - or nah, we'll just drop or your stuff off with a note saying never to contact us again! - belle

How sad was this video! For starters, the army dropped him because he was born in the wrong body? How is that fair? Surely he is still the person he was when he was serving in the army? Fair enough he wants to have a sex change, but for the army to send him a letter saying he cant be part of it anymore?! After he has still served his time in the army, fighting for his country and helping every one else out, when he needs help and support - no one gives it to him.
Quite clearly being a transvestite isn't all it's lived up to be. We mainly see drag queens, men who dress up as women and women dressing up as men, people who do it for entertainment purposes. It looks all fun and glory, however what about the people that aren't so upfront about it? Ian was clearly devoted to being a woman, but the public are not supporting what so ever. When he was in the shop, trying the dress on and the two old women start laughing at him. Where are transvestites supposed to go to shop?!
'Im not a freak, i was just born different - that's all. Im not a gay man, Im not a drag queen, Im not a transvestite or a sheman, i just want to be a woman!'
This is actually really sad! We cant understand how they feel, believing that we are born in the right body, as the right sex. But evidently, it's a really touchy subject. I've also noticed how men that dress as women - transvestite or drag queen, they all seem to dress in the same style. You never find a man buying womens clothes for any stereotypical groups of people. They all dress as middle-aged women, jeans and shoes with a top and cardigan - something along those lines. I have never seen anyone dress in the latest fashion or their own style, i find this quit interesting..

As for his mom and dad disowning him - don't get me started! - cindy

  1. so annoying how they focus on the transition from male to female so much though, why isn't a man aloud to wear female clothes when in the army most of the women are probably tom boys anyway and most likely wear mens clothing (okay, so granted, slightly sterotypical here) but if the roles were reversed would they act the same, no!
